Puebla, Mexico is the site of my own father’s family and the current day home of my second cousins, so this children’s book immediately caught my attention. As authors we are frequently influenced by our own family history and the voices of ancestors we never met. This author influences young students and broadens the boundaries of Latin American stories that are crucial to our continental history.
